The TSM 5.2.5.0 client does not come with a set of INCLUDE/EXCLUDE
statements. The EZ-Backup Team has compiled a
recommended list of excludes: Mac5250_inclexcl.txt
This list contains folders that contain temporary files (such as
browser caches) that can be large, and would make the nightly backup
longer (as well as larger)
- Using TextEdit (or similar), manual paste the contents of the
list into the TSM System Preferences file ("Macintosh HD -> Library
-> Preferences -> Tivoli Storage Manager -> TSM System
Preferences")
- Note: This list assumes that the user has not renamed the hard
drive from "Macintosh HD"; if the user has renamed the hard drive, then
that name must be substitued in for "Macintosh HD"
- As a guide when setting Include-Excludes using the TSM client's
Preferences (from within the "TSM Backup for Administrators"
application TSM Backup -> Preferences)
- A number of the folders in excludes on this list can not be
found by using the "Browse" button (due to limitations in the Mac OS X
GUI) but have to be manually entered
